mDNA

I am currently reading a book right now entitled "The Forgotten Ways" by Alan Hirsch. He brings a very insightful case to how an individual in Christ is made as well as the make of the church as a whole. To sum it all up, the question that is on the table is, "what's your mDNA"? All of us a humans have what is called DNA. If you have ever seen TV shows like CSI or Crossing Jordan, these shows are all about finding the DNA of a killer. Yet in the spiritual, when we came to know Jesus as Lord and Savior, God by His Spirit, placed in us an mDNA (Missional DNA). He created us for the purpose of being a people on mission! Once that mission is known by you, you cannot help but to accomplish the mission that He placed in you. Thus, the importance of knowing Jesus more than just our Savior. We must acknowledge Him as Lord! When the Lord becomes front and center of our lives, praying to "find" God's will and plan will be few and far between. Why? Because when Jesus is Lord, your mDNA already puts you in the middle of His will! Thus the question on the table is, "what's your mDNA"? Are you called to pastor? Are you called to be a church planter? A teacher? A vision caster? A missionary? I was asked the other day when discussing this concept, "Sammy, how will I know if a specific call is in me"? My response for him and everyone else is not "if" a specific call is in you, as the body of Christ, we all have a specific call in us. The issue is making Him Lord, so that your specific mDNA will be revealed in you!

Make Him Lord today. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal your mDNA, and walk in the will of your Lord, Jesus.
