For the past 3 years, I have found myself more interested and yet spiritually moved towards the area of apologetics. In these 3 years I have spoken to, debated with, and conducted a lecture at SMU (Southern Methodist University) in the area of worldview and culture. With that said, allow me to give you a prayer request that I myself have been seeking the Lord on. My desire is to develop an apologetics ministry. This does not mean that I am going to develop it right now at this time. Apologetics is more than just a desire to teach truth, but we must add a knowledge of the truth we teach. Dr. William Lane Craig, a well known apologist, said in a recent article that if a person wants to move toward the ministry of apologetics he must first master the English language, he must secondly study 2-3 hours a day, and finally he must earn a PhD in order to gain credibility. Thus as you can see, I have a long way to go. However, this is in my view and a goal I desire to accomplish. So as you think about me this week, please keep me in your prayers as I ever so cautiously walk toward the arena of the apologist!

Wow, an apologetics ministry, that's awesome. I really enjoy defending the faith, it's a great challenge--keeps me on my "spiritual toes". That first time that I really engaged somebody is fresh in my memory. It's a wonderful feeling & I ask the Lord for grace & humbleness. I know what you mean about credibility & having those credentials especially if you're going into the public sector. I'm far from a PhD but I think I'll be OK without one for now :)
God speed ahead.
