2008, Already?

Well, here we are again just days away from bringing in another New Year. It blows me away thinking about how fast 2007 came and gone. For crying out loud, I'm still trying to fulfill my 2007 resolutions (Cowboys win 10 games, Cowboys in playoffs, Cowboys to Super Bowl, Cowboys 6 Time Super Bowl Champions- so far so good). Do you remember when you were younger, it seemed as if Christmas couldn't come fast enough? However, today Christmas is here and gone faster than you can say "MasterCard". So, now that we are in the 2008 vicinity, what are you wanting to accomplish this new year? What are some of the goals you want to meet and stick to? How many family members you wanting to tell about Christ? What is your Scripture memory goal for the year? How much weight you wanting to shed this year? I can go on and on asking questions about goals, however the greatest question is, will you stick to it? Will you accomplish what you set out to do? The great thing about new years is that God allows us time. You see, "time" is not an issue to God. Time is in His hands and runs in His movement. As the book of Acts tells us, "for in Him we live and move and have our being." Yet time to us is valuable. We are effected by time. As the days pass and the new years come, we get older and can't turn back the hands of time. Therefore, I dare you to live as if time is of the essence. Live as if this would be your final year. All the things that you wanted to accomplish, all the people you wanted to tell about Christ, all the weight you wanted to lose, all the bad habits you have been wanting to quit, and all the excuses we make as to why we don't go to church and serve God with all our hearts should be placed front and center and completed! Get it done this year, so that if the Lord allows you another year (2009) you'll be that much ahead! May you have a blessed and prosperous New Year!

Until 2008- Pastor Sammy
