June 16, 2007

As I sit at my laptop, I can't help but to do a "debriefing" of the past 34 days of my sabbatical. First of all I must say that I really enjoyed blogging. Being that it was my first time ever writing a "personal journal", I hope you enjoyed reading each blog as much as I enjoyed sharing my heart and insights with all of you. I will continue doing a blog for FCOH as a means to share my heart as well as keep each member up to date as to things to come. You can log on to fcoh.net and click on the link for daily and/or weekly blogs. Secondly, I find it rather interesting as to a consistent question that I have been asked concerning my return to FCOH. The question was, "Pastor, do you feel any pressure giving a Word from the Lord as to the direction we will be going as a church?" I can't help but to smile and be encouraged by such questions and inquiring. I smile because this shows me that the church is excited and anticipating a move of the Lord like never before! This kind of excitement and anticipation can only be given to a church that finds herself in earnest prayer and seeking the will of the Father. Hence, my answer to that question is as follows: I actually do not feel any pressure at all per-say as in giving a word from the Lord to His church. As the Lord is the builder of His church, He gives the word to His people through His shepherd, therefore I wait upon Him when He desires to speak. However, the "pressure" that I feel, if any, is that I be a clean vessel before the Lord and that my heart, soul and mind be focused upon Him and righteous in His presence. Therefore, I anticipate my meeting with you tomorrow. Church, let us be excited for what is to come, and yet in prayer when it does! Please know, that on behalf of my family and I, we hold your prayers close to our hearts and thank the Lord for each and everyone of you.
Until Tomorrow- Pastor Sammy
