Final Thoughts

Well, it's hard to believe that a whole month has passed and our sabbatical is coming to an end. I must say that my family and I have been truly blessed and I thank the Lord for the experience, the teaching, the learning and at times the breaking that He has put us through as well as pulled us through! I have so much to share with you, however will save that as time permits and as sermons arise. At breakfast today, I asked my wife and daughter what stood out the most and/or what did the Lord show them through this 34 day sabbatical. My daughter said that it was a great time to see family that we don't often see. My wife's family lives in Dallas and my family lives in San Antonio (How bout them Spurs!!). We don't have immediate family here in Houston so it was a good time for my daughter to play with her cousins and spend time with her grandparents. My wife said that she was able to rest and seek the Lord for answers to her questions. She was able to re-focus and prioritize what was important in life and in ministry. As for me, it was more of a "personal" thing that the Lord and I went through. However, I can say this much, I am not the same husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, pastor and evangelist I was 34 days ago! The Lord has restored some things in my heart as well as lit a fire in my spirit. I feel more focused and relaxed and yet open to the Lord and His will in my life. Thank you again church for allowing your pastor and his family this time to seek the Lord in this way. I thank you for your prayers and those of you who fasted for my family and I while we were gone. We definitely have felt the power of the prayers of he righteous. They did avail much! I will give one final thought on Saturday and will see you on Sunday.
Until Next Time- Pastor Sammy
